4th generation stock suspension good?
Hello.
I have a '98 V6 Camaro and am planning out a number of mods for it. One of the things I was considering was upgrading my suspension. Getting new adjustable coil overs and shocks. Now I was wondering if it is really worth it, or if the stock parts on the car are good enough for most situations. I am not a racer but I do like an intense ride and wouldn't mind taking my car on a track at least once in the near future. Are suspension mods a must for this?

Ill agree. I have eibach lowering springs with front kyb agx adj. struts, That was NICE to say the least. Then i added a 32mm front sway bar and a 25mm rear sway bar, AMAZING even more and then a strut bar. That did a little bit. But for sure go with sway bars and sturts and shocks. Also maybe look into a polyurethane bushing kit. These are all ideas. put together you've got a great handling machine.
To answer your question quick and easy, kyb agx all around, and some sway bars. for sure! Good luck

You could always bring the suspension on your V6 up to Z28 specs, and get a good handling car on the cheap. Tires are what really make the difference. The best suspension will be of little value with non performing tires.

Koni shocks is the biggest upgrades you can do to your Fbody. The stock shocks are outright terrible. Then you can look into rod ended LCAs and PHBs for the rear (it needs it) and sway bar upgrades as well... Springs depend if you want to lower or not (if you do lower then you WILL need a new PHB (adjustable) to center the rear end and new LCAs and relocation bracket to help with the wheel hop you will get doing so)
