Default Alternator Removal

Hey everyone, I'm new to the LS1 field. I upgraded from a 1994 3.4L V6 Camaro which I gave to my little sister after I restored it. I'm having a little trouble getting my atlernator off, I was wondering if there was a special tool to get the wires off the back of the alternator. I guess you'd call them the charging wires. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks!

the smaller wire harness should have a plastic plugin on it. there should be a movable piece on the plugin that holds it in. if u push on this and pull on the plug it should come out. the larger wire is of corse held on with a bolt.

I ended up cutting the hot wire that runs to the battery to recharge it because I couldn't remove the bolt. The wiring harness didn't give me any trouble. My new alternator is coming tomorrow so hopefully it'll go on with no problems. Thanks for the help craby

good deal. just in time for the weekend. on the main charge wire, did u replace the wire end or the wire itself. not a good idea to have bare wires.

I replaced the wire head by inserting the bare wires into the bottom of a connector head and then clamping them down. Ha yea its was ready for the weekend but I had to work doubles on both saturday and sunday so i didn't get it out much !
