Alternator
I'm plannin on buying a new alternator and i need to know i can wire any alternator to my car? Any ideas or suggestion would help? Also does anyone know where i can get a chrome one.... preferably an 100 amp?
as long as it has the juice you need the answer is yes. the only issues you will run into are making sure the bracket and mounts are correct to keep your belt tight. however anything for a SBC should work fine
www.google.com ?
i know a few guys around here have nice resto sites. i think even summit may carry chrome casings for alternators..... not sure lol

Got mine here, its 140 volt, great price--works perfect, and looks gorgeous. I have alot of stereo stuff, (3 amps) and other extra electronics, charges at 14 volts most of the time, (unless a really kick *** song hits my playlist) and is a single wire, very easy to use and install. You can find brackets from stock to billet aluminum there also, assuming you are running a small block chevy as Specter GT260 mentioned above.

haha... alright thanx... well i found one thatlooks good how does it look http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product...p;dept_id=1123... but to tell u the truth i don't know what the difference between alt's... is it that the more amp it has the more recharge u get in ur battery... oh now that i'm on the subject... what's a good battery brand cause right my sub-woofer amp seems to be suckin the heck out of the one i have....
it looks pretty sweet. just make sure it will bolt up to your engine correctly.
as far as the battery goes, i have a red top... which i dont actually need for the amperage i pull. you could get by with a standard battery if you get a.... capacitor? is that what those big tube things are they sell at audio stores? if you need more bump up to a yellowtop. not exactly sure what the differences are. just what ive heard

redtop and yellowtop are only made by 1 company that im aware of and they seem to be the top of the line or whatever. if you go in anywhere and say you need a yellow top they should know what ur talking about. they are gel cell and instead of being square look like 6 cylinders all glued together with plastic
I have an optima red top as well, which is a very nice battery. Im running an alpine MRP-F300 and 2 eclipse XA1000 mono amps into polk momo 6x9s and 2 10s. Im also using a Tsunami 1.2 farad cap, which you can find here.http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/p...p;x=23&y=7
I dont have any problems with head lights dimming or other elect. issues. It sounds like you areplanninga solid base for the elect needs of your (nice looking) ride. Rockford fosgate makes good stuff, though not made in the US anymore, there are better values for the money. Good luck.
