info on cutouts
hey so im having my car worked on the 5th by Tick Performance (the buildingconnected to where PCM4Less is) and im planning on putting cutouts on...
ok i know the difference between electric and regular
but are the electric cutouts that you buy just like attachments to the regular cutouts, that just take the regular ones and make them non manual? because from what i've gathered you pay $500 for like just a thing to connect to pre-installed cutouts
so what im asking is can i just buy cutouts and then get the electric upgrade later on?
and also (i have a 97 lt1.dual cat) do i need 1 or 2 cutouts to put before the y connects to the cats...
and another question lol, what all is involved in manually turning the cutouts on/off? like is a 5 minute job or less or is it an extended process?
thanks!

Search "exhaust cut out" on fleabay. There are a lot of them, like this:

The electric ones have a rotating blade, like the butterfly on a carb, and it seals fairly well.
The manual ones have a blade that pivots either left or right like a gate, but they don't seal as well. To work the manual, you hook up a cable (like a choke cable) to the pivot arm of the cut-out to operate it from inside the car.
