If you have true dual exhaust or anytime you have headers, you should install two cutouts.

not necessarily, you could install 1 cutout after the junction of a Ypipe with headers. wouldnt be a good as 2, but still much better than running through a catback. I however will do 2 when i get the money

Although a good header/Y-pipe and cat back can support 500+ HP, so I'm not quite sure why we would want to do this unless we just want to make noise.

I have 2 on my exhaust about a foot and half after the headers on my 69 camaro. Quick time performance is where I ordered mine. They come wired to 1 toggle switch and can be opened to a 1/4,1/2, and 100%. I purchased dynamax cutouts with a rotating flange so it tucks up nice. I was told my car purrs like a kitten when closed and roars like a lion when opened. I think I read on the website that it adds some horsepower. The video on the site will show you how they work.

the exhaust is still a restrictor. any component on the stock car is capable of supporting alot of power, but if you improve it you will make more. sometimes only a little, some times alot. a 500hp car through a full exhaust will pick up some extra power by cutting out the exhaust.
