Just got done cruising in my '69 Coupe and have noticed a heavy smell of exhaust in the car while driving around. Noticed it again today. I haven't done much checking yet, but I know there is a problem somewhere. Just wondering who has run across this and solved the problem. Any tips/pointers would be appreciated! Thanks!!!

 

If you have a new exhaust system it is probably just the protective coating burning off. Otherwise, if it is a real exhaust leak, you need to get under the car while the engine is running and find out where the leak is. Do this on a lift so you don't wind up with the car on top of you.

 

Not a new system by any means, just bought the car in May and have not done much to it yet. Not sure where the leak is, but it is a pretty good one!

 

Hmmm well my car has the same problem, well not problem, i love the smell of gas lol, but ummm i think its cuz of my cats are empty..........are yours hollow also??? if not well then you got a leak in the piping
