I am converting my 67 RS back to original and have installed the correct Muncie 4 speed, cross member mounted Muncie shifter, and console. My issue is that the shift lever contacts the shifter plate in the console when shifting into reverse, preventing a full engagement in gear. Shifts 1st through 4th without issue. I am not aware of any adjustments that can be made to the shifter. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem without compromising the original look of the shifter or console?
