Default it won't start

hello people. i am having problem with my 92 camero RS 6 cyl. it was working fine and last week it started acting up. i was abel to start it in the morning and after i turn the car off i tried to start it back up and noting. i have the key on the on position and the dashlight light comes up and i turn the head light on & the light works fine. when i turn the key the motor won't turn, it won't even make an attempt. what can cause this? i thank u for your response.

[&:] bill could be several things. the ignition switch itself and the starter are two likely culprits but cable connections and battery can cause similar problems. several things to try, tilt the steering column down and try starting, use a hammer and gently?? tap on starter motor. if these dont work try jumping starter big and little studs(starter switch preferred but sacrificial wrench or screwdriver will work). try this and get back to us these tests will help isolate or find problem kurt

[8D] do you have anything plugged into the acc fuse hole?? you could try seeing if theres any other items that are not working in the car. failing to find an obvious item not working i think were gonna need a wiring diagram to help figure it out. what if any non factory accessories do you have on the car??
