Default Still No Start

Well when i turn the key all i can hear is the starter solenoid click.I can get it to start by jumping the starter, and i have cleaned the connections to the battery terminals but still doesnt start. The battery is fully charged and i even replaced the ignition switch and double checked the wiring to the starter but still does the same thing. All fuses are good.Is there a starter relay somewhere ?

There is a start relay that is controlled by the PCM. However; being that the solenoid is making noise it indicates that the relay is working OK. Put a voltmeter across the battery terminals and see what the voltage drops to when you turn the key to start. I suspect the contacts inside the solenoid are bad.

[>:] ditto pete if the solenoid is functioning (noise) then its not transferring the electricity through it via the contacts to the starter. see if theres any voltage going to the copper tab on the starter when the solenoid is engaged. if not the its the contacts in the sloenoid that have failed kurt

i actually have a feeling its a problem with either vats or the actual device that is reading the chip on the keep, the security light isnt on but i think that is what is stopping the car from starting

[:@] alih if the solenoid is activating as you describe but the engine is not turning over then the vats and the key chip have nothing to do with it that i can think of
