Default slop in steering wheel

What's the best way to get rid of the slop in manual steering box, and how good are the quick ratio steering boxes? I don't want to convert to power.. thanks dan

There should be a stud with a slot in it and a nut on the stud on top of the box. Loosen the lock nut and turn the stud. Don't tighten the stud because then you will not be able to turn the wheel.

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought I saw a quick ratio MANUAL box listed at one of the vendors.. It's a 69.BTW.

Buy a Ford. You will be a happier person, and suck less.

I have it in my head but the words arent articulationg to post... the farther you turn the wheel with the QR the more the tire will turn, so you turn it onehalf turn and the tires will go to say, 20 degrees but a full turn will lock them out at the farthest, so you dont have to turn the wheel like 3 times just to pull into a parking spot. I think I understand what I just said. Anyways, it works off of the powersteering system. could be manual i guess as I have never seen one to know for sure.
