question.

When you say the motor won't start. Do you mean when you turn the key you hear multiple clicks? This would mean low battery voltage.

If it is low battery voltage that could also affect the security system. If the battery has failed replace it then attempt to start the car and try the security lock, unlock.

One solid click my first guess would be a issue with the starter itself. Make sure your connections to it are good and clean and also make sure the s- wire that feeds from the starter switch is connected (small terminal on starter). Then see if your getting signal from the ignition switch at the starter. If not, could be a ignition switch issue or a BCM issue causing the no-crank.
