Default oil filter question

I was just wondering if it would hurt anything to put a larger oil filter on my car.I have an 85 with a 350 in it ,and I noticed that 350s of the same year ,but in a truck had longer oil filters .Same gasket size, threads etc...just bigger .can i use one?

The truck filter will work fine, but you still should change it at every oil change.

the rubber gasket and thread sizes are all that really matters. the length of the filter is more for fitment, however a bigger filter really wont help you any. If the fitment isnt an issue at all (which some times they can be in goofy spots, not sure about ur motor) then u can use whichever is readily available

I have used the A/C Delco truck filter for My IROC for 20 yrs now with no problems. The two qt filer is like having a larger oil pan without there problems. I like the idea of the eztra oil capacity and cooling.
Also it the only reason I Go to the Dealer for a oil change isbecause they are only ones with that filter I know will fit.
