pull ur steering wheel remove 1 screw that holds the key unit in place cut the 2 wires that go 2 the switch take that unit 2 radio shack and have the ohn's check 2 see what size resistor u need . put the wire that u cut from the unit and fish it down through the columm when u find what size resistor u need (radio shack has them fo a 1.00 -- solidor the resisytor onto the 2 wires from the key unit--go 2 advance auto or another car parts store and purchase a key switch unit for a camaro without a vats system it should cost between 10-15 dollars install the ner unit where the old on was and the wire with the resistor wire tie it under the dash--this will work because a had the same problem with my 89 if u have any problems and if u want 2 call my number is 304-615-4861--good luck--sam

thanks for the reply, but couldent i just rip the whole unit out of one at the junkyard for liek 10$ and be alot simpler?

the ohn's going 2 the switch may not be the same they r 15 different onn setting on gm cars
