Intermediate drive shaft question
Hi guys.
Background: I have a '79 Camaro that I'm restoring. I had to replace the steering column and the new one I bought had a spline insert into the intermediate column as opposed to the "Double D" that the original had. As I understand it, both are common. So anyway, I then bought an intermediate shaft that would accomodate the spline insert. It appears I have 2 options here...
Question: How do I disconnect the intermediate shaft from the pump (I can't figure out how it's connectd) OR just swap the housing at the top of the intermediate shaft from the original to the new?
Any help is appreciated.
