Default fan doesnt turn on. please help!!

after reading an online manual for my 1991 RS (5.0) and checking my engine bay i realized that i need a new temperature switch. i know the fan motor is good because it turns on with the ac. after searching in my engine bay forever i found the loose plug that should be connected to the temp switch, and here my problem begins. the only place i see it reaches has this sensor (which according to autozone is a fan switch) Name: coolingfanswitch.jpg

and obviously it has nothing to plug it to a wire and is where the manual says the temp switch is supposed to be... so am i supposed to unscrew this and put the temp switch there? if so, where does this fan switch go? heres a pic of the temp switch which does have a spade terminal on it...Name: temperatureswitch.jpg

sounds like someone put the wrong sensor in or in the wrong place. if u have a good parts man at your local dealer he will let u look at the parts schematic to identify where the fan switch (if u have one) goes. also should be able to see that u are putting the temp switch in the right location. i picked up a parts and illustration catalog for my yr. tells what the part # is and shows where it goes.
