Default Cars Running Finally

Well I had my car completely torn down for head gasket replacement and while I was at it, I put on Edelbrock Shorty Headers and a Flowmaster Exhaust. Now the only problem is the timing is off, and if I let it idle for a little while, the enginesmokes a VERY little bit. I can't pinpoint where its coming from either. I've heard that they coat headers with something so when they get hot enough, the coating cures to prevent rust, scratches, etc. Is this true and could this be the cause of a little bit of smoke or could it be something else? Or could this have something to do with the timing being off? I'm going to adjust the timing tomorrow morning because I'm just too tired to do it tonight anymore.

It's true, the shorties from Edelbrock are coated. The smoke could be from the oil that burns off the headers, my headers are bare stainless and they smoked a little as well, but that should stop after 15-20 minutes when they get completely heated up.
