brake light problem

my driver- side brake light went out on my car and i replaced the bulb and it still wont work.... what could the problem be? thanks

it could be, but... i checked the wires and they are on there good, and the inside of it is clean.

I haven't looked at the brake lights recently... Is the bulb a round based one or is it wedge based? If it's wedge based, sometimes you need to push harder to get it to lock in. Try that and if it doesn't work, then try rotating it 180 degrees.

Possibly a blown fuse? I had the same problem recently. I played with the fuse box, replaced a few blown ones, and it took care of the problem.
