Brake light problem
Got strange problem with the left brake light... Seems the brake light doesn't work sometimes, then comes back again, if I mess with the turn signal. So I'm figuring it's the turn signal wiring on the steering column, but don't want to buy it if someone on this forum thinks it could be something else. Yes, the turn signal and the headlights works. It's just that second element on the blub that seems to be problem.. I traced it down to the Yellow wire in the harness, using the wiring diagram, that leads to the turn signal harness. any ideas?

RE: Brake light problem
It's probably the turn signal mechanizm in the colum. depending on the year, it can be a pain to change..the turn signal and brake light share the same wiring. if the mechanism doesn't reset or cancel back to the center position just right or is worn out, you will loose your brake light.
What year is it?

RE: Brake light problem
Greg,
It's a '69 Convertible SS. I tend to believe it's the turn signal wiring as well... If the brake light goes out, all I have to do is trigger the left turn signal and the brake light works again. Do you know if this part is available at Classic or NPD?
