Default RE: brake job

are the back breaks discs or drums? disc breaks are easy as hell to change, once you have the wheel off and the car on jack stands, there are two alen bolts on the back of the caliper, ( for the front) make sure you have a stool or hanger nearby to keep the caliper on so that you dont stretch the break lines. once the caliper is off, take off the outside pad, and then using ac clamp, push the piston back in onthe inside pad, (making sure not to squeze any break lines) once that is done put the new pads on, the bigger one goes on the outside. The rotor should slide off fairly easily, simply take it off the hub assembly and replace it with a new one. once that is done, place the caliper over the rotor and gently thread the bolts with your hands, then once they are started use the wrench to tighten it up the rest of the way. the back is virtually the same, with much smaller pads. i just changed all my rotors/pads last week and i cant remember what the difference is but pay close attention when you take the back pads off, they look the same at first glance but there is a specific inside and outside pad. same thing with the rotor just slide it off and replace. not sure how big the bolts are in the back but its not an allen wrench situation like the front. make sure you have a long handled wrench, them bolts can be a real ***** to get off

What I do if I am only changing the pads is leave the bottom bolt of the calibor in and just remove the top, lean it back pull the pads put new ones on and put the calibor back on the rotors. Saves time in fights it back on completely.

me and my dad successfully redid my brakes (everything BUT the front calipers), and neither of us had done brake jobs before. its realy easy, just follow the instructions in a manual, keep parts in order, and take pictures of stuff you might get confused on while reassembling

i would reserve and entire weekend for it, and make sure you have a spare car to drive to the parts store because you never know what might not work. mine took a while because i was given incorrect rear rotors, then my dad broke the parking brake cable, then i had 2 faulty calipers, and took me a few weekends to get it all done.
