Angry battery problem i think, i dont know, im at work please help

so last weekend, my car would not start. the weather is not cold. my car runs fine. or so i thought. so i tried to unlock my car about 30 minutes after i had got home. the alarm didnt work, i thot that was odd, maybe it was the little battery in the alarm thing. so i unlock the doors and the alarm didnt go off. i was expecting it too since i just locked the car 30 minutes ago. so i put the key in the ignition, no noise, no beeping, no lights come on. what the heck??? i jus drove it 30 minutes ago that day, and i turned the key and it turned fined, but no juice. this never happened to me before. i just figured out the password again so i was able to post the question. please help, i would like to fix this asap. could it be the battery? could it be the new 10 inch sub i got with a 1000w amp maybe>>>anyway..thanks in advance

i forgot to mention that sometimes, as of recently, when i turn the key to turn the ignition, it has trouble, like makes a winding noise, and then it might not turn on that time. i try it again and it will work. thanks again, pleaase

You'd be supprised how fast a battery can go. I took my old Durango to get gas before i went up to the mountains for the weekend and when I was done fueling up the thing wouldn't start. no lights left on or anything. While your at the parts store have them test the alternator also, takes a few seconds but it'll give you some assurance.

I'm guessing your in a V6, the alternator in that might not accomidate the amp you have running if the battery was going out, therefore your amp would be killing the battery. When you replace your battery, I would suggest either the red top or yellow top optima. The red top is a good all around battery, the yellow top is made for vehicles with a high current demand, like a big stereo.

If nothing electronic is working you don't have many options on what it could be. How new is your stereo system? You could be draining the batt. like Arrow suggested, or you could have something wired up wrong such that it's draining the battery.

When the car does run do you check the battery gage? It should at least be at half way or 13. My firebird runs a stronger charger than half way which is good. If your car is less than 13 or half way while running than your alternator isn't charging the battery like it should. Like the guys said, have your battery and alternator tested but I would also make sure your system isn't continuously running off the battery and draining. Next question to you is did you install the sub woofer and amp or did a professional like Best Buy do it?
