1994 Camaro Z28 Conv. What all would I have to do if wanted to change out the tranny.

 

Spend a good amount of money for the 6-sp and the labor & parts for the swap. Unless you are a very good DIY type It would just be parts. But guessing from your question you are not.

 

I'm an alright DIY. Its just that I was trying to scope out the amout of work I would need to do. I can get the tranny from a junk yard. I was just wondering what else you need to do.

 

you could run a better rear gear while still at the same rpm in 6th vs. the auto. thats my plan for my 86. either a t56 or a richmond, and 3.73 rear gears and it will still be the same ratio as my current 700r4 and 2.73
