Yeah, i know it will be hard... But the only thing ive really got that id miss is my girlfriend and she says she will support me no matter what i do.. and if not well there are other fish in the sea. I have nothing going for me really so I want, cant wait, and am excited to join the army. I hope to leave by march but i have to get my reckless driving probationclosed out first and im working with a lawyer to put that in motion. Also i wanna leave by march because i would like to be back by june for my gfs prom.. but w/e happens happens. idk if i even get to come back after basic, that was just my understanding of it.

Depends. You will probly be given a few days (around 7 - 14) before you have to report, but you have to ask and there is no guarantee. You can also get to your first duty station then ask for a pass (especially if you get Lewis) or leave.

 

Lewis? As in Ft Lewis the base here in washington? I could get stationed there? I didnt think they had infantry stationed here.

 

Oh yeah. 2/75 or 3/75 is there. I was there for a year and a half.. tons of INF. But, why go 11b? Unless all you aspire to do in life is blow stuff up, I would really thing about the future and all your options.

Im not going to try to talk you out of joining the inf. If thats what you want then like i said above more power too you. But you need to take the time and think about it. I am a air borne 63B but just like every thing else my job depends on the needs of the army. I used to want to do all the high speed stuff and be in the fight. Then i got to Iraq and a lot changed. Being you are new to the army and it sounds like you want somthing more for your life and your looking for the chance. Picking a field that you would get free training in might not be a bad thing to do. Then in a few years if you want to get out you now have at least some good job training. Or if you do want to do somthing more high speed then you can reclass to inf or go to selection. Trust me man i not trying to talk you out of any thing just take a good second and get all the facts. Being in the middle of every thing is not some place you want to be. Every one wants to be the hero. Well in real life hero's come back in boxes.
