hey i'm new to these forums and don't know too much about cars.

I have a stock (aside from speakers) '99 z28 convertible and i've finally saved up some money that i want to put into my car.

So i wanted to start with my engine first and have a couple questions. Would it be worth to buy a whole new engine? I'd rather buy a new engine now than buy new parts for the one i currently have and then wind up replacing it later down the line?

And if so what engine should i buy?

As I said I don't know too much about cars so if I left something crucial out of this post please left me know.

 

What condition is the current engine?

 

And what condition is your wallet in?

 

I'm not to sure the exact condition of the engine.

I take care of it (Wait for it to warm up, change the oil regularly, etc), so I would assume it's in at least a decent condition.
