Default Going from FI to Carb

I'm a new camaro owner and I have an 88 with a v6 2.8(?) I think.. any ways its low.. I have a 305 v8 sitting in my garage.. I want to go from FI to Carb but dont know exactly how to go about it.. I kno ill need to get a few tranny, fuel pump(?), gas tank as FI fuel pump is in the tank and carbs is mounted on the block, new engine and tranny mounts.. Other than that I dont know exactly wt I need, will the new engine have all the same connections as the old one? Or will i have to do any rewireing? any and all information (even pics would be nice) would be much appreciated.. thank you very much

there shouldn't be that much wiring. the only wire a non-computer assisted engine is starter, oil and water sending units, voltage guage, alternator, distributor, and a/c compressor if you have one. all these wires accept for the distributor will be entering the engine compartment on the left side. any wires entering the engine compartment on the right side is for computer and you won't be needing them. the distributor you will have to wire yourself which is fairly simple. you can do a search on chevy distributor wiring and most likely find a diagram. the gas tank can either be replaced or you can alter it to accomodate a mechanical pump. would be fairly simple with some brake line tubing and some compression fittings. the motor mounts can be easily adapted with a kit. if you can't find a 2.8 to 5.0 camaro conversion ... look for one for an S10 same thing. as far as the tranny goes ... try and find you a used 700R-4 from a junk yard and it will fit right in. driveshaft i'm not sure about ... you may have to get one a little shorter but maybe not. sick
