I am new to this site i was wondering what i have to do to switch to a carb + hei system can i use the same fuel pump etc i have a tbi and stock distributer now with the computer.

 

The easiest way, without having to remove/bypass the in-tank pump, would be to install a return style fuel pressure regulator before the carb. Summit carries them. You have to drop the pressure, or gas will push right past the needle & seat and the carb will overflow. And, since the computer is what keeps the pump running now, you'll also need to re-wire the pump so that it runs automatically with the ignition key on.

 

Does anyone know if the roller camshafts have a fuel pump eccentric to run a mechanical fuel pump in this application?

 

from my belief they are not on the cam after about 87 or 88.
