I have the new Elderbrock performer 600cfm carb on my 400smb. The guys that had the car before me put to much fuel pressure to it and blew out the power valve so now it just dumps gas in the intake. Any ideas on how to fix it or should I get a new one. Ive been told that it is hard to replace this because it is all incased in wax. Not for sure I am dumb when it comes to carbs. I am on a budget and really do not want to go buy a new one but im getting gas in my oil. Can anyone help?

 

im sure you would have got some answers just posting one thread, i know how impatient you can get working on these things lol, but just get a carb kit and use a manual fuel pump.

I went through rebuilding my Edelcrock and didn't see anything encased that couldn't be replaced. I am not an Edelbrock fan, so dumped mine finally and went to Holley again.

 

Do Eddys have a power valve? I have only heard the term used when talking about Hollys.
