Default Carb

I have a 67 with an edelbrock 650cfm carb. when i try to take off in it, it stalls and sometimes dies. and for the first time today i heard it back fire. I was told i was getting too much fuel and not enough air so i bought a bigger air filter and it didnt help. whats wrong with it and what do i need to do.?

Default RE: Carb

im still learning how to tune carbs but there should be 2 screws near the bottom on the front of the carb( they may be more i dont know ) find out which one is fuel adjustment and which ones air adjustment.

If its getting to much fuel back the screw thats the fuel mixture screw out a half or quarter turn at a time the could work too.

maybe that wont fix but try it.

Your timing can be off as well.
