Default 427 chevy tall deck question

general question, what do i use to make this into a stroker engine(im not buying a kit)

other questions:
what pistons and size rods do i need to make this into a stroker engine?

someone said i have to change the crank(i dont want to waste the forged crank it already has in it)

someone else said i can use the same crank, go with a longer rod to make up for the stroke (specifically 6.525")

im going to use standard 427 pistons instead of the truck pistons with four rings.
anyhelp?

The stroke is determined by the crank. The only way to increase the stroke on an existing crank is to weld material to the rod journals and then regrind the crank. This is not a very good solution. Longer rods will not add to the stroke but will move the piston up in the bore and cause it to hit the heads. Longer rods require pistons with relocated wrist pins in order to avoid the problem.

That would depend on the availability of 427 rods with different journal sizes. My "400" crank had the rod journals offset ground by .010, which then required the use of the "small journal" rods. So I have a "stroked" stroker, which gave it another 10 c.i.
