Chevy 383 Question

You can make it pass inspection, but it may cost you an arm and a leg to get it there. You'll have to give us more details on the engine. cam/heads/carb-FI, that stuff, or just post up the link.

that is the ad. I talked with the guy and he said it will bolt right in to my car.

It will not bolt right into your car. In the very least you're going to need a V8 K member (or tubular K member) and you'll have to work with the clearance with the cowl and the distributor. The 4th gen cars with the V8 in have the distributor mounted on the front of the motor with a different front cover etc. It's not just a "bolt in" and call it good sort of job, it's quite involved.

Well i am not worried about the work it would take. i have plenty of time on my hands. I am just worried about money it would take to make it work and pass inspection. Inspection is the most important for me

The engine itself should matter on your inspection. The emissions is a whole nother story, but if I was going to the extent of putting a 383 in one of my vehicles the last thing I would be worried about would be if it would pass emissions.
