3.8 to ls1
i have the 3800 camaro
its a 2000 and i would like to upgrade to the ls1
i was wondering if i should just sell the car and buy the ls1 or can i drop an ls1 in my car??
do i need to get a new tranny??
also my car is not a stick but i would like to make a manual.. would that cost an arm and a leg??

Nah, just kidding. Just sell the 3.8 and get yourself an LS1 camaro (although, a plus side to dropping in a V8 into your V6 is that your insurance will stay the same...and you'll have yourself a sleeper).

Makes you wonder though- if you're going to gothrough all that effort and expense, wouldn't it be better to swap in something more: LS2/3, LSX, truck 6L iron block (hello boost?)... ?

insurance fraud is when you purposefully destroy something and/or try to make a claim that you dont deserve in order to collect cash.
My point was that if he wanted to spend that kind of money doing the swap, then it might be worthwhile (in $-per-hp terms) to go for a newer motor than the LS1.
