the gm performance or the summit gm one? msd is not that great. gm performance is the way to go. it would be a good idea to look at the water pump and if its looking old change it as well. if the water ppump goes it will most likely ruin that new opti. rain sucks.

no i havn't started taking the old opti out yet. been kind of hectic weekend so far. the fuel pump was taken out and yes there was a small amount of stuff in the bottom. so i cleaned the sock, replaced the gasket and put it back in. i'm thinking thats not the problem... it was after i was done with the fuel pump that it showed dtc 16

ok im with you if its not the opti it should be. there a pita to change but only cause your under the car lookin up at coolant dripping. i get the water pump out and let it drain overnight with a catch pan then dry everything up and start again. lol. getting old. your out there in the rain on the side of the road man i feel the pain and im nice an warm at home. lol.

Okay. So.. its been almost a thousand miles since i put the opti in and i'm still going strong Sorry to bring this dead thread back to life but i thought i'd share the good news! I had a couple of fouled plugs that were causing a misfire but i have since corrected those.
So i went through every piece of my ignition system, replaced the switch, coil mod, coil, map, and the opti. the fuel system was cleaned out, tank was dropped and sock was cleaned, but then replaced cuz it had a tear.*my mistake* fuel filter, and plugs. all this cuz it would die on me. if anyone has this problem the first thing is the OPTI!!! just FYI
only 9 days till archery starts!!!
