I can sort of tune it by ear but is still slightly out... I heard that you can buy clip on guitar tuners but I would need help choosing which is best?

I think you should go with 4.10's. It is great. Also HP tuner is great. Also I would like to remind you that you should analyze your situation carefully before going for a purchase. You should check the condition of your LS1. Talk with your mechanical engineer before going for any tune.
