Hey guys. I have a 1997 Z28, and it has the Delco cassette player radio in it, and the 12 disc changer. Now I was hoping I could buy a Delco cd player radio, swap it out, and it would still control the changer. I did that, but the cd player won't control the changer. From the vague stuff I've read on the internet, it seems that only Monsoons will control the cd changer, or cd players from 99-up, or with a certain part number (which they say has the chip in it to control the changer). Does anyone here know for sure? I just want to put a Camaro cd player in so I can just pop a cd in it when I get a new one or whatever, but still want to be able to use the changer as well. If anyone can help, thanks!

 

I don't think that's going to work. I believe it's one or the other (Single or Multi Disk)

 

Call a dealer and ask them, they should be able to tell you what you need to get it to work.
