Default 2002 drivers door is 3/16 low

I'm new to F bodies, and my 2002 LH door is 3/16 low, which looks funny at the body moulding and also makes the door latch hit to low.

I would appreciate advice on how to get the door aligned.

The hinge pin would help correct at the rear of the door. It's the front edge of the door that's low. the only solution that I see is to have a shop remove the door and hog out the bottoms of the hinge holes. I'm hoping for a better solution.

post up some pictures. the whole front of the door or just the window. not alot of ways to adjust the doors. has the lip under the car been smashed? lots of these cars get put up on the rack and greenhorns will put the pad in the wrong place and smash the lip that sticks out which pushes up on the fender.

I don't think you need to do that. There is already some room in the holes to move the hinges around. When I took off my driver side door to repair the hinge area, I tried to keep the hinges in their original positions but had to loosen them at the car anyway in order to correct the alignment. There is adjustment available where the hinge meets the car and where the hinge meets the door. Both can be moved vertically. The bolt nuts where the hinge meets the door can be reached and adjusted easily. At least one nut where the hinge meets the car requires a somewhat special end wrench but you can probably bend or find one to fit.

Craby - yes, my pad flange was smashed. My painter hammered the damage out , but the door is too low at both ends

GaryDoug - The paint man said he tried to loosen the bolts and raise it with no luck. I may try another body shop.

Thanks to both of you - Dave

Crabby - here are the pics you asked to see

The rear end of the door is not off as much as the front because it is resting on the door latch. You can feel it drop slightly when you open the door.
