my latch went kinda flappy and somthing in the door mustof came loos er somthin cause now i can unlock it now por anything cause what ever made the latch not work messed with the lock as well
has anyone had this happen to them lately?
i can't open the door from the outside or inside!
it is the drivers sidedoor
any info would be great

Call an auto upholstery or auto body shop. They remove door panels all the time.

 

My friend and I recently fixed my passenger side door. I couldn't open it from the inside. Turns out that the inside of Camaro doors are made of fiberglass. There was a hole right where the handle to open the door goes in. We put a flat piece of steel and put two small bolts, some washers and nuts behind the fiberglass and now it works good as new. im pretty sure i can fix it but i was just seeing if anyone had this prob before cause i can open the door now from either side. i hafta crawl from the passenger sidewhich is gay.
i can probably take the panell off with the door shut but itll be a ***** im sure.
also camaroguy87, did your door open from the out side?

 

That would be hard to get it off with the door shut....I would just lean over from the driver side, pull on the handle to open it and give it a hard push. It should budge loose. Yeah I was able to open it from the outside, just not the inside.

 

i havent had any time yet to go screw with it but im going to now and when im done ill post an update.

 

problem fixed, i had to take the panel off from the inside of the car. i then had to reach my arm in from outside of the car (the window down ) and pull on the lever which connects to the door handle. pulled on it got the door open.
then i was able to see that the lever goes into a little hole in the back of the actual latch you pull on to open your door. i found a broken connector, dont know how it broke but it was a little plastic clip that held the pin (lever) in the the door handle.
so i ulled out my best friends the zip ties and fixed it.
im going to order or look for aa new clip but intill then the zip tie will have to do!! lol
it was easy to fix

 

Haha zip ties and duct tape....the solution to everything. Glad to hear it's fixed man. I bet that was a pain getting the panel off from the inside.
