Default Unplugged 3 pin connector - drivers side

Hi everyone,

I was looking around the engine of my '95 (3.4L) today, and found a loose connector/wiring bundle wedged underneath my fusebox area. It has a purple sleeve on the connector, and I've looked at my pdf parts manual and "location of everything" and can't figure out what this should even go to. I found a couple of links online with others talking about having that same unplugged connector (w/pictures), but no real answers.

3.4l Wiring?

Don't know why I've never noticed it before, but I would say it's been this way for awhile.

i will guess and say its unused option wiring thats on all or most of the harnesses so they just make them secure and move on.

Any chance it's for the Air Pump? I found some information about that, but I looked and don't think mine has one. Was that an emissions thing only used in some areas, and maybe why this connector was unused?

I read somewhere else that they didn't put the air pumps on the L32 with A/T (which I have). Only the manual. I looked at the pdf parts guide I have, and the AIR pump section for the L32 lists the "M49" transmission with all the part numbers.

So, maybe I never had one, and that's why the unused connector?

if its not showing as a trouble code or ses light then its either been tuned out or was never there.
