I have (i think) a stock duel exhaust on my 87. Its got somewhat of a throatty sound but nowhere near say a flowmaster.

I saw this somewere before, I think it was on Fullthrottlev6.com. Anyway it epends on what you use for the exhaust. Like bigger piping will give a more froaty sound at idle but can produce that awfull rapse sound at high rpms. It depends mostly on the brand of muffler you use. Some sound really good, and others sound cheap.

It would be ballsier, but it won't be anything like a V-8

I have a 95 3.4L with headers and magna flow cat and muffler with Dual out of the muffler. Dont ever put headers on a V6. It make the car sound like crap. My car almost sounds like a RICER now..I hate it. I did have the exhaust manifolds with the stock cat and a flowmaster muffler and the car sounded awesome. The headers only gave me probably about 12hp anyway....
