'94 3.4 5 spd manual...in third and sometimes fourth gear my car has been stuttering for lack of a better word. just started recently. im thinkin maybe the clutch is slippin but the kicker is that if i drive hard its fine. and by that i mean if i shift at 4500 in every gear she runs like a dream but if i shift at 2500 or 3000 in normal every day driving she jerks pretty hard in third...any ideas?

 

when the clutch is going it will slip. are u sure its not misfireing? are u getting any trouble codes? whens the last time plugs were changed? plug wires?

 

k how does slipping feel different than what i am describing? and misfire is a possibility. i get check engine light rarely but doesnt stay on but a few seconds. and last time plugs were changed was over a year ago...

 

slipping clutch is like not letting the clutch out all the way so it doesnt engage all the way except the clutch is out all the way.

 

Do you get this when just accelerating, or when you engage the gear (actually moving the shift lever), or when you let the clutch out? If it does it when your just accelerating with no clutch input, its likely an engine problem, not a transmission issue.

 

had it looked at yesterday...wires were gone to crap and fuel filter was plugged...so tune up should fix everything and make her run like new
