Default Tire vibration

From a dead stop I turned my wheel left and felt a weird vibration and low noise from the driver side front. should I be looking at new bearings and hub?

First you should be looking at the old bearings and hub. Jack the wheel off the ground, grab the tire at 12 and 6 o'clock, and try to rock it. If you feel sloppy movement, the bearing is shot. This would also be a good time to rock the tire at the 3 and 9 o'clock position to check for steering component wear/slop. Check both sides.
