Default Spongey Clutch?

Hey guys, I have a 99' v6 with about 98,000 miles on it. As far as I know, the clutch on it has never been replaced. Lately, I've noticed that my clutch pedal has a real spongey feel. It's hard for me to describe how soft it is on a messageboard and since I don't know anyone else with a 5-speed Camaro, I can't really gauge it either. It seems really soft and it doesn't spring back into place when I let off it like all the other 5-speed cars that I have driven. Is this normal for a Camaro or should it be fairly stiff? I thank you in advance for all your advice.

It should be fairly stiff. Well brake fluid is hydroscopic and absorbs water. So you could have mositure in the system. The clutch might need to be replaced because it does have a lot of miles on it. If the clutch is ok, it might be your pressure plate with the spring fingers wearing out.
