i have a 97 rs that starts just fine until the service engine soon light comes on, then won't start, will turn over and is getting fuel at the injectors but no fire. i had the codes read and the only thing was an egr error. i clear the light and she starts right up. starting to happen alot more frequently. any thoughts??

 

First thought is it a PCM failure. The code is not stored because its not one of the things the engineers planned on failing.

I am not saying that what it is just my first thought. You need to back track the no spark and see if it leads you to the PCM. Could be a cranks sensor or ton of othe things.

 

Which is the specific code #(s) you have?
