sensor question?????
if you could send me some pics of exactly what your looking at I can help you. I own and have rebuilt a 3.4 your cam position sensor could indeed be causing your car not to start/die. now that sensor slides down into a hole located on the front driver's side of the block just before the timing cover locked in with a 8mm bolt. I believe that's the size. your coolant temp sensor is bolted in on the drivers side head, and your air temp sensor is bolted in on your lower manifold. the sensors should have female ends with the actual harness having male ends. there should be a plastic clip that snaps on to hold the wiring onto the sensors. I would check for that.
hey slick thanx so much, i looked around alot and it may be the camshaft thing, but its hard to tell ,i have a high pixel camara, i will send u some focused pics. ""there should be a plastic clip that snaps on to hold the wiring onto the sensors"". yes thats my main problem, maybe all im missing is just the plastic clip cuz like i said the female prong is there, and i have the wire harness, it just doesnt have that plastic clip, so i can put the wire connector on it just falls off, im sure i can tape it together but id rather do it right if i have to buy a new sensor, but the female prong is still protruding out of the engine block so its still there just no way for the connector to stay on,
i dont know how the temp sensor is messin with the ignition but that looks like what it is. there are two sensors in that area, cam sensor (569) and temp sensor (525), cam sensor is held in with a bolt and temp sensor screws into the head.
yeah it has to be the temp sensor, i have no clue why its not letting it start , but thats what it has to be, because before that broke off it worked, . so im going to pick it up today install it and go from there.
