At start up the CTS is the dominate sensor and allows with other criteria the PCM to drop into closed loop, if the CTS is not functioning correctly you may experiance poor performance and a check engine light, but should not prevent engine starting. A more likely suspect would be the camshaft sensor.

check the wiring harness to the cam sensor. should be just under the temp sensor. it may be that you were moving the wires to it and causing the temp recovery.

gzilla95 your not alone, read all these comments. And my 95 3.4 is doing the same.new plugs, wires, belt tention, icm, coil packs, fuel filter,Checked fuel pressure, oil change, cad not glowing at dark.Problem=warm up for 5-15.After that point get ready to take off and stalls BEFORE I SHIFT INTO DRIVE.restarts with strong but boggs alittle also. But it restarts with same issue. If i go to drive i dont feel confindent so park it.its an obd1 system, only able to look for opens and shorts in some of the systems.Seems like a fuel issue of some sort.Thx for socket size tho ill hunt one up.Do you Know the sensor to the right of thermostat????Whats that called?thanks and good luck

yep the camshaft position sensor is right beside the thermostat housing. one little bolt holds it in.
