Rearend Gear Question
you know that makes sense, if the computer thinks the front wheels are spinning and the back are not it may react in a strange way and try to bring the front wheels to the same speed as the rear. have you tried to bleed a little brake fluid out and see if the caliper will let up?
Nope, i don't know how. I've never messed with brakes before, except to change the pads, and a wheel bearing on a '96 Sierra. Never bled brakes though.
Hypothetically, if bleeding the brakes a little did fix the problem, what would stop it from locking back up once it again realised there was no ABS?

I just read a "how to" on bleeding brakes... I don't have a second person to help me. I also saw some 'solo bleeders' for sale online, which is a cool idea for someone going it alone; I'll look into getting some.
But for now, I won't be able to do it without some help, which the earliest will be tomorrow before I have anyone around. If even then.

without holding the brakes on, if you let a little of the brake fluid out it will let the caliper open, assuming the abs held the brakes on the first time you pushed them in then held till you shut the system down then im thinking pressure is still in the sytem holding the brakes on. did that make sense.
Yeah a little, lol. I'll loosen the screw in the morning - it's raining out now, so I can't do anything anyway. that does make sense though, and I hope it's the case. I'll try it out, thanks for the tip.
I just bought this... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...0#ht_500wt_956 ...initially I was thinking it was cheap, and it'd be better to swap it out with the brand new one (as this has the ABS ring on it), and send the new guy back to Summit to try and get my money back..
But it came from a 2002 Trans Am - will this even work in my Camaro? It's 10 bolt, 7.5", so all good there. But upon closer inspection, I don't see a pin in the carrier... I'll post pics in a bit.

I would contact these guys for questions, and be sure to check out their carrier guide:

I've been looking ALL OVER for pics on the differences between carriers! Thanks a bunch for the links to sites.. this carrier is a Torsen, so I'll give 'em a shout I guess. I do have (allegedly) all the stuff for it; it seems I do anyway... I'll e-mail em and see if it works in my car.
