Default Plastic Elbows on Belt Tensioner/WaterPump

I replaced these less than 6 months ago using the ones AutoZone sold in the HELP package. Now they are leaking again. Are the GM OEM parts any better? I lubricated the o rings with motor oil before putting them in. Should I have done differently?

I can go by another Help set for less than 5 dollars but if it will permanently put this issue to rest I will pay $25 to get oem. Any opinions?

I assume you mean RTV like the permatex orange. Would you just use that and the less than $5 aftermarket elbows or would you go with OEM. And if you use the RTV do you let the car sit overnight before running water back threw.

yes yes and yes. that is if the piece is not damaged or looks like it may have a factory flaw.

I found that the OEM ones are no better than the HELP ones. GM has a TB out on the 3800 regarding the elbows leaking and the TB recommends using a sealant on them. I used Bearing grease and mine have stayed sealed.
