I do agree. Building a fast V6 is VERY commendable. However its time and money consuming thats my only point. When you have ALOT of money just sitting around you canafford to be unique because that uniqueness is VERY expensive and time consuming. If you didnt noticea good number of the 4th genowners around here aremostly kids and dont have alot ofmoney layingaround and cant afford to have the worlds fastest V6 supercamaro not any time soon anyway. With my V6Mustang i sawthat i didnt have the time or money to build it up to be unique so i opted toget aZ28which wasfaster and wouldyield better results when modified for the amount of money id put into it. This isan example of one uniqueV6 Mustang however: http://showstang.com/. The Show stang started out as a 145hp 3.8LV6 and withalot oftimeand alot ofmoneyErick was able to turn it into a 300hp superchargedshow car but he had the money and time to do so.

lol, lets not turn this into a war thread like the many others out there. You are right spartan, sixer mods are not cheap. I will be building an engine soon, but I'm working on the appearance and interior first, then I'll move to the chasis. Right now, my tractor needs severe engine work, its my main source of money. Without it, I don't make any. I won't be doing much to this car for a while because I need to pull the crank out of that old Allis Chalmers, and have it redone. That 4 cyl. needs so much work. I need to get it fixed before hay season starts. It blew the head gasket last season, and the brakes are fried. I still had to run it though, and as a result, it needs the engine pulled and completely rebuilt.

Keep the V6 projects going! Don't have one but my budy does and it's fun to play around with him. Also, if you think about it, how much did you spend on your car? My guess is 5k or less and what did they spend on the STI? Isn't that like a 25k car? Take the other 20k they already have in there car and your 6 would stomp a mudhole in there.... you get the point. There was a fellow I used to work with when I had my thunderchicken who had an STI. I paid just over 2k for my t-bird and it was a fun little car and would corner with the IRS but wasn't exactally fast. He would make fun of me about it all day long so that's what I brought up. Let me spend another 20k on this and it'll be fast as a ****. Also, that was him and his wifes only car I believe and my wife drove a 96 Crown Vic and I have the Bronco as well, so I never had to worry about leaving my wife without an auto. Now, I have the Bronco, the vic, 99escortand the Z28. Speaking of all that, the Bronco is for sale now. Anyways, back to the point. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll enjoy the hell out of it. Hit the salvage yard up and see if you can the the computer and supercharger off of a GTP. That would be cool.

imo its a waste of money to mod a V6, BUT i drove a V6 Mustang in the beginning of high school and it was great on gas and when i got a better job i got a Z28. The only reason i think its a waste of money is because you spend alil more to keep up with the V8s and alot more to beat them. But V6s are great cars if your looking for the mpg but if you have the money to mod a V6 you have the money to mod a V8 and gas isnt too different but to some money is hard to come by and a V6 Camaro is still a Camaro. That was my view of my mustang it hadcustompainttinted windows and a killer sound system, the great look of a sports car and the greatgas mileage of the V6.
listen man... the money to mod a V6 is really not that much to beat a 8 ..... lets take your case and mine.... my 6er was 5000 with aprox 20k miles when i got it ive had to do no repairs so that my total price. now if my memorys serves from all the threads youve posted after all the repairs you put into the Z your 11-12 grand right now... so from a financial prespective ive got 6-7 grand to equal your with the mods it came with roughly 295 hp so i have to make 95 hp for 7 grand..... bolt ones are gonna get me to about 230 for in total 1.2 grand.... then cam rollers rockers lifters will say 1500 would easily put me right up next to you....seems like ive got another 4 grand to burn so lets change the equation a bit.....lets back off the cam to somthing less agressive and just do a little bump up with a slightly larger cam no need to update rockers so on and so forth ill be sitting 250 with 5 grand to spend....spend 2K rebuilding the bottom end then 3 grand on a supercharger.... and run 12 lbs of boost....be blowing your 8 away and maybe maybe be 500 bucks more than you paid.... cus people dont sell Zs cheap unless theres problems....

fast v6 cars are neat but IMO with the money it takes to buy a v8 now dont expect your v6 camaro to be a budget racer. the v8 options are much more cost effective. i think this is about the fairest way to state it.

nic, comparing to spartan isnt really valid because a healthy lt1 can be had for 5k. hell, a decent mid mileage ls1 can be had for 7k now. my TA was 9.5 and TA's come a little more expensive than their camaro counterparts, usually by over 1k on comparable cars

i honestly dont see the point of buying a V6 muscle car, i just believe in the fact that they are suppose to have...muscle?

nor do i see the gas mileage argument since on average they're only like 2- 3 mpg apart...

but i mean, they just equate in my perspective to something you'd find at a honda dealership. its cool, i mean what you buy is your own car. i wouldnt bash you or anything

i mean i do toy with 6 banger maros/birds on the street but thats just me.

especially when they feel to upgrade they're exhaust and forget that they're not immune to rice...

if you can smoke your buddies then smoke them, if they dont drive them give them a big old "***** you"

my friend has a V6 GTP. it can keep up with the LT1, granted its supercharged...
