Default Oil Leak 3.4

Have a 95 with the 3.4 liter engine has developed a oil leak at the back of the engine on the upper right side, leaks down on the starter. I can't see what is leaking any ideas? How hard to pull the valve covers and or intake as one of these is the problem my guesses at this point.

Also anyone have any luck with the oil stop leaks that are out there?

Most likely valve cover gaskets. I've never pulled them off a 3.4, but I can only imagine it's a pain because of clearance issues. Like most any other engine work, it probably requires to be dropped (yikes!).

Ok thanks thats what I was afraid off. I didnt realize the engine dropped though but makes sense considering where it sits.

My wifes camaro had 100,000 on the ticker and needed valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets and a new oil pan. Damn glad I pawned that off on a buddy.

This is my daughters, and unfortunatly can't afford to replace it. So either have to fix it myself or take it to the mechanic to get fixed. Hate to do that for a oil leak though.

The easiest first thing to do is to clean the engine and oil pan area w/degreaser to get a clear look at where the leak is -- use a bright light once cleaned... I had my oil pan replaced on my '95 last month as it had rust holes forming in the pan...

Most of those stop leak treatments of any sort are really only worth it as a temporary measure, and usually cause more problems than they are worth. I would stay away from them, unless selling the car...

The oil pan is actually clean, I got that leak fixed. Problem I have with this one, is I can't see the back of the engine to know for sure where the oil is coming from. I dont have a mirror that will flex right for me to see it. I know it comes from the right side towards the top of the engine.
