My trunk key is broken off in the trunk. Will that affect the security and not let the car start or do anything since the security light is on?

 

I do not believe the status of the trunk has any effect on the security system. I left my key in my hatch lock by accident, I found my other set of keys drove to work and when I walked past the car I noticed the keys still hanging in the hatch. That was a 1996.
