I just bought a 94 Firebird and won't be able to bring it home for another 2 weeks, work schedule sucks. It's got the stock 3.4 5 speed, but it not a little of TLC. Exhaust manifold gasket, headlight buckets/motors, taillights, and paint on the new front clip. i would eventually like to swap-out the 3.4 for the 3.8 or even try a 4.3. but I don't wanna keep it stock, I'd like to go with some aftermarket cams, and have it bored to 30 over. I've spent the past 2 days looking online for some nice aftermarket tail-lights, and replacement headlight motors/buckets or even possibly swap out the 94 front pumper cover for a 98-02 bumper cover, fenders and hood.

any input/help on info, where I can get some parts would be greatly appreciated

 

Welcome to the forum. Changing out that 3.4 to something other than another 3.4 will cost a ton of money unless you buy a complete donor car that has everything you need for the swap and you do the work yourself. You are looking at not only changing engines but wiring, computer, possibly the engine cradle, etc.

Here is a link on swapping the front end to the new style for a camaro, should be about the same for the bird. Check your local auto salvage for parts to do the swap as well as the headlight motors and buckets.

I never thought about that, I just figured it would be only wiring and the computer. maybe I'll just find another 3.4 and see what i can do with it
