Default '01 V6 Intermittent Starting Problem

My 2001 V6 Camaro is having intermittent starting problems. Sometimes, the engine just won't turn over - no clicking or anything, but the dash lights are on, so I know it's getting power from the battery. After trying multiple times and letting it sit for a few (1 to 10) minutes, it starts right up. I've had the battery checked and it tests good. Some of the things I have thought of that could be causing this are starter, ignition switch and VATS relay. What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Jeff

Try another key or have a new key made. And make sure that your key is nice and clean too. THis could also be a worn lock cylinder which is a pain to replace and i dont recomend replacing it unless you really have to.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have a new key that I had made as a spare when I bought the car a year ago. I'll start using it as my primary key and see if the problem goes away. One thing I noticed when I was switching the keys from my key ring was that the resistor in my original key was actually loose and I could move it around a little with my fingers. I suppose that could be causing it not to get a good connection sometimes and preventing the car from starting. I guess I'll find out.

it would be a good idea to clean the battery terminals and cable ends with a wire brush. take the battery cables off then wire brush the heck outa the terminals and wire ends. check the power junction box (small red plastic box on the passenger side fenderwell) and if it looks like the wire connections look corroded or damaged clean and if needed repair.
